Detour

Narcs Detour from anything that could Disrupt someone else’s Delusions of them and how magnificent they are.

If a crisis or problem arises- that would normally be the Narc’s responsibility- they will handle a huge back log of Easy Issues first, to accomplish a large amount of work that prevented them from handling the crisis. This prevented them from making mistakes, and instead, some one else had to take care of the crisis.

They also Detour by generating something fun to focus on, such as a parent not attending a school play and taking the child out for Ice Cream; or a Boss handing out inexpensive gifts or hosting a party, instead of the well deserved bonuses- that the boss lost from his own accounting error.
